Re: How can I get rid of blocky and course cliffs in my scenery
Luis, an interesting and thoughtful view on the subject of scenery accuracy, and I go along with what you say. I know from looking at google maps that just when you thought you had the coastline nailed down nice and accurately, Google will suddenly allow another zoom level and what you thought was a...

Re: How can I get rid of blocky and course cliffs in my scenery
Thanks for your input Luis, From what you say It looks like that in order to satisfy the default mesh, I may have to sacrifice the geographical accuracy of the coastline, unless there is a way of easily changing the mesh in a local area? Anyway I shall give your suggestion a try. As always, thanks a...

How can I get rid of blocky and course cliffs in my scenery
Can anyone explain what is happening here. These are two pictures of the same place, the only difference is that in the second picture I am about 200 meters closer than in the first but in moving closer the cliffs get very blocky and course. I am not sure how to overcome this. it is especially notic...

Windows 7 and SBX313
Hi all, I am migrating to Windows 7 and have had a few software issues one or two of these are with SBuilderX 313. The one I am currently wrestling with is the compile bgl function, I select all the elements to be compiled, Then I go to bgl compile and tick the "copy bgl files to bgl folder" but whe...

Maximum number of Polygon and line points
Could someone tell me if there is a maximum number of polygon and line points that SbuilderX can handle in any one project? I am getting "unplanned mathematical errors" when using the smoothing facility.
Thanks.

Re: I am still working on my little bit of Alaska.
Thanks for your reply Luis, an exclusion polygon was the very first thing I tried, I then tried over writing it with a Hydro generic ocean poly, In desparation I tried an exclude, although I know that is for objects, I read and completed the the Island project in the tutorial several months ago, I a...

I am still working on my little bit of Alaska.
In the TmfViewer picture attached there is a shoreline in the FSX default scenery running north south along the 135 degree longitude which separates the Scenery blocks CVX1111 and 1211. I have successfully reshaped the coast on both sides along this channel but no matter what I try I just cannot get...

SBuilderX 313 looking for XToMdl.exe
I have installed SBuilderX 313 in Windows7 Beta, when I start the program I get a message box saying that Access to the path D:\Program Files\SBuilderX313\Tools\XToMdl.exe is denied. I checked with my Vista installation Tools folder and there is no .exe program of that name and yet my Vista SBuilder...

Unplanned terrain exclusions
I am changing a small part of the default coastline and I am using the technique of making a poly around a Qmid12 area, excluding all terrain from this (Poly1), inside this I make another poly (2) but still larger than the Qmid12 block. I then trace out the coast line overlapping poly2 I then make p...

Is it possible to Change the Bgl save folder
Hi, I am partway through a project that has taken several days, and I would like to re-organise my files and folders. Could someone tell me if it is possible to change the BGL compile destination folder that was set up when starting a new project?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Changing a small bit of Alaskan Coastline
Yes Luis the project is underway. Just a short explanation of what I was trying to do. There is a small bay in Alaska that I wanted to shape more accurately, the coast in the default scenery is all straight lines and looks awfull. The minimum area that can be modified is Qmid 11 which is quite a bit...

Re: Changing a small bit of Alaskan Coastline
Brilliant, that works perfectly, thank you both so much for your help, I have learned so much from struggling with this little problem, but I am aware of how much there is yet to learn. Anyway my float plane base can now go ahead. Thanks again.
All the best

Re: Changing a small bit of Alaskan Coastline
Hi Dick thank you for taking an interest in my little problem, what with Luis and now you, I am feeling very honoured with all the high powered attention. I hope you can throw some light on why this gash appears in the coast line. If it can be solved then I will be able to carry on creating my float...
