Re: Smoking Volcanoes

I don't have FSDS and can you explain what IS2 is?

Isn't there a method of doing this using SBX?

Smoking Volcanoes

I am currently on a virtual round the world flight and heading towards the Kamchatka peninsula. There are a number of active volcanoes there and and want to be able to add smoke to add to the realism. I have already laid satellite images over the volcanoes. Does anyone know haw todo this?

Okavango Delta

Hi I am returning to SBX after quite a break. I have to say that I never got really deep into it before, just creating photoscenery using the "background/compile" function and creating freeway line (I would call them strings) to make the terrain more animated. I am looking at a new project now. Havi...

FSX Water Features too High

I am adding bush airstrips to the scenery in Indonesian Papua, but I have fond in parts of the island, the water features that come with FSX are too high. This means that sit considerably higher than the surrounding terrain. I thought at first this was because I had added the FS Global scenery, but ...

Re: Automating photoscenery compilation

I have already got this document and read through it and to be honest it hasn't helped a great deal. It did after a considerable amount of experimentation get me to the point where I could compile photoscenery from the background satellite images, but I am afraid that I find some of the terminology ...

Re: Automating photoscenery compilation

First of all I must apologise for the delay in getting back on this. I have been very much involved in other things and have not had time to pursue SBX issues for many months. Thank you for your reply. I don't want to appear rude, but in part I haven't a clue what you are talking about. It seems to ...

Re: Adding Traffic - utility

I am also working on a routine which will allow you to digitise a polygon around a wooded area and populate it with trees. Currently I am experimenting with a varying random factors so that you avoid linear "planting" in mixed and natural woodland/forest. I have a question on this subject; how do th...

Adding Traffic - utility

FSX only has traffic on motorways/freeways as default. I think that adding traffic to the scenery gives a greater feeling of realism when flying VFR or coming into an airfield. To that end I have been gradually creating traffic lines on "A" routes in Scotland. There may be an easier way to do this -...

Re: Tile Server Plug-Ins for SBuilderX

I feel a complete numpty. I have previously run SBuilderX and managed to install a Google Satellite plug-in and got access to the Google Satellite data. But I recently built a new PC for FSX and have had to re-install SBX. Now I can't get Google satellite images. Which .dll do I use and where do I c...

Terrain Mesh Enhancement

I have FS Global 2010 and the "ULtimate" upgrade for Europe and Africa (global terrain mesh data). Their claimed mesh detail does not extend to some parts of Scotland that I have examined for example Arthur's Seat (Edinburgh's extinct volcano) doesn't have sufficient detail to represent it properly....

Re: Automating photoscenery compilation

Doesn't anyone have a clue how to compile a series of photoscenery backgrounds without having to do each one individually?

Automating photoscenery compilation

I have been creating photoscenery from the background aerial photos for fairly extensive areas. To do this I have set an array of objects in a project covering the area I wanted to create photoscenery for. I then centre on each object, compile the background image and then move on to the next object...

Re: Windows 7 Problem

Thanks for the responses. The scenery is working fine now. I loaded up the commercial photoscenery and set the FSX parameters as detailed in their instructions and my own compiled photoscenery works fine. Obviously I had made the assumption that photoscenery would work with the "out of the box" FSX ...
