Re: AFCAD_background map_SBuilder

Thanks, I found that cool crops and town landclass. Not bad. When you start to really look at autogen you realise how awful it is! And yet, it is amazing too. Another 30 mins or so should finish the landclass. After that I have to add some WW2 hangars, a fuel tank, a flying club office, a windsock a...

Re: AFCAD_background map_SBuilder

Thanks again, Dick Should I use the ordinary polygon mode to do this, or landclass mode? I get nervous with landclass - last time I messed with it I ended up re-installing FS9. It has taken me 18 months to get back to where I was, so I do not want at repeat performance :!: The choice of landclass un...

Re: AFCAD_background map_SBuilder

:) Thanks! Yes, I know that tutorial of old. I am using it for this project. I wish I could find a .pdf version of it with the diagrams. I've moved on from that last screenshot above and have managed to clear away the autogen and replace this with grass. I seem to be taking a bit of a hit with frame...

Re: AFCAD_background map_SBuilder

Further to that, I tweaked the lat/lon and managed to centralise my new AFCAD Rwy 22/04 and Rwy 34/16 over the polygons. The incorrect alignment of Rwy 26/08 is the reason I made a new AFCAD in the first place. The X marks the position of the aircraft.

What next? Thanks!

Re: AFCAD_background map_SBuilder

Many thanks. The VTP polygon is from AB946120.bgl in eurw.

I'm not sure where to go from here. I can only assume that the AFCAD screenshot has been correctly calibrated but I have nothing to measure it against.

AFCAD_background map_SBuilder

Hello - long break from scenery design and on a learning curve again. I corrected runways at EGAD which are wonky in FS9. I now want to remove autogen, trees etc from the airfield. I use LWM Viewer to find the AB and FL files and then open these in SBuilder. So far, so good. Then I append a map and ...

Old_New Scenery

I've just made a new scenery with SBuilder involving changes to rivers, roads, forests etc. I'm running FS9. When I run the program I get both my new scenery and the default MS scenery on top of each other. The new scenery is in a folder in...\FS9\Addon Scenery and also in the G:\SBuilder\scenery fo...

Sorry to re-open this old thread but I made a visit from UK to beautiful Marosvasarhely (Tirgu Mures in Romanian). I found that the 'swimming pool' at bottom left of the Google picture is in fact a chemical lake at a huge industrial works. Just goes to show there's nothing to beat a site visit!

Ah! I made an exclude polygon set to layer 8 and placed it over this pesky coastline. It's gone! Why did I not think of this before?

Persisting coastline

Sorry to post again so soon on coastlines. I'm using SB in FS9. Two questions: Q.1 I cannot get rid of this 'orphan' coastline/shoreline. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL84/1407476/2681734/289730948.jpg I tried these: 1. Placed a landmask LWM poly over it - no good 2. Added a flatten poly over the ...

Ah ha! I wonder if I've cracked it? In map mode I right clicked on the edge of the map in the SB window. I went to calibrate on the drop down menu. I identified two discrete points in the scenery (P1 and P2) and clicked on the <Change> button to the left of the upper lat/long values. The cursor beca...

Hm...Iain Murray refers to LOD8 squares in his Coastline Maker utility where you refer to LOD13s. So that is why I am confused. I asked about the white areas: I understand that LODs are either water or land. If I start a new SB project I find blue squares and the rest of the area is white. Does this...

Luis Many thanks again. I've been trying to get my head around the FS2004 SDK on Ground Polygons and LWM polygons without a lot of success. I understand the essentials about the LODs belonging to land/water and layers. But I do not have a working knowledge of the C programming language - according t...
