Image and Map errors - new photo process
Using the new photo process I sometimes receive a Cannot Create Image error when doing an Add Map function - original 12 Get Background loaded 14. The if I try again it tells me that maps cannot be displayed. This seems to require restarting SBX and reloading tiles via Get Background. Are these real...

Not sure if I am doing the correct procedure. I zoom to level 10 in SBX. I use this view to get the lat/lon extents to enter into Get Background. I set the Getbackground zoom to 12 and load the tiles ok. I then go to Add Map in SBX and use the zoom 12 level to create a new map. However, the map only...

In the SBX folder look at the ".INI" file. Then look at this section. [Tiles] compression quality=100 HardWinterVariations=January WinterVariations=December,February,March FallVariations=October,November SpringVariations=April,May,June SummerVariations=July,August,September ReprojectMercatorTiles=Tr...

That is probably another good way to set a baseline to manage downloads. My RAM is only 1gb which is ok for the areas I "fly" in - rural. Right now I have 515mb available. XP-SP2. Most of my photo-scenery is from Terraserver using the JD Cox program for acquisition. Typically, from that source, I cr...

Yes, the server impact is very obvious. Other servers may "google" theirs in response. Obviously there has to be a limitation. SBX should be able to predict the number of tiles that would be down-loaded with this process. Although I do not use TileProxy that offers realtime tile loading anymore it w...

New Photo Scenery Instructions?
Just saw the new SBX photo-scenery instructions on AVSIM. They are very good - THANKS! The instructions seems to imply that you can load a set of picture tiles from one of the servers at a specific zoom level. Then, by using the select box, and the zoom selection, a higher resolution background map ...

Two pictures (aka screenies) the first of SBX with ASK at zoom=16. The other picture shows ASK map site zoomed to its max. The difference may be due to limitations of the programatic entrance into their database. The picture is the tip of Manhatten. http://www.ptsim.com/forum/uploaded/boleyd/2007102...

I tried the Hi-res scenery in FS9. It was only partially successful for me. It appeared ok but at certain viewing angles the underlying old landclass texture popped through. It was probably related to properly positioning the three elements - original mesh, my mesh, new texture. Since it was looking...

Two tricks needed for FS9 vs. FSX. One is that you need a Scenery and a Texture folder. The other is that you have to use the resampler.exe that came with the FS9 SDK. I have not made any photo textures for FS9 for a long time. However, SBuilder FS9 should do this for you automatically (resample BMP...

Yes that file is there. I deleted the LibObjs folder before the reinstall to insure that I had a clean folder. ======================================================= I found the problem. The [Objects] Section of the INI file had all of the files set to Drive c: instead of D;. Because I had to upgra...

Library Object Selection Blocked?
I was trying to add Sidney Schwartz'z objects to SBX. I know that they are intended for SP(FS9) but I thought I would give it a try. When I attempted to place an object, after installing the JPEGs and the Include the Library object selection was greyed out. I remove the things I had entered but the ...
