Re: Can´t compile to BGL

Meshman-I have no idea either at this time. However I have seen this message now and then but can't remmeber what I was doing to create it. Also- I've been trying to find out how I might be able to edit individual points on a poly for different altitudes. Scenario- say I have a dorp-off cliff of sor...

add map from disk

After doing so I get the calibrate message, but even after that I can't seem to get to the screen where I draw my red rectangle. If that is not available then how do I change the LOD so the photoreal shows up. Right now even with blendmask all I get for file size is 75 or somewhat higher. Photoreal ...

Sloped polys

In a scenery of mine I have off to the left small ridge due to an elevation change. it isn't too bad, only a 15 or 20 ft climb or so. It would be nice to get rid of this or stretch it out more. It is NOT a cliff but a deffinate increase which is visible from top down basically. I tried placing a pol...

Re: photoreal

Sorry for the late answer. I would imagine it would be good to zoom in as close as you can get. sometimes you are not going to get a high rez photo Some regions are just not in high rez from Google or VE. When adding a map and you choose your area with the red rectangle, you want to click the highes...

Re: Calibrating map issue

What is "Mask" layer? ....... I which I guess is designated as _M? 24 bit helped? If I add map from 'disk' we get the message- this map might need calibrationb. I have always left this alone.... no problem.

again what is Mask Layer? Is this the b&W blend mask? This is saved as a tif with _B.

Re: Smoking Volcanoes

IS2 is Instant Scenery 2. FSDS? don't have it? Get it. Much easier to learn than Gmax; can do much more with it than Sketch Up.

Re: Smoking Volcanoes

Using FSDS you can easily place smoke where you want it. You could place it wit IS2 or you can go to the top of a volcano, sit you plane right where you want the smoke, write done you lat and lon. Then yo ucan make a small tirangle poly, go to current part properties, browse, choose the smoke you wa...

Is there a way or in the future a way to choose earlier satellite images? A friend of mine I work with likes to redo AFB and Navy bases circa 50'-60'-70's. The only way I know is to use Google Earth and use the time slider which takes you abke about to '95 or so in many cases. These are saved images...

Re: A few good questions

Luis- Thank you. The information is enlightening and helpfull. I knew I should be doing water-masks but haven't tried it lately. I believe it is filename_W.tif I'll look at it further. By the way- Is there any loss of quality if we reduce the inf file from 100 to 70 or an increase of quality from 85...

Re: A few good questions

Luis- I used blue with a clone brush to cover the white areas, smudging here and there to lose any lines, watching opacity and hardness in my paint program. (PSPX4). Some how these areaas then turned black. ltely I redid this area and it turned out ok. Maybe I used a different zoom level. Closest i ...

Re: A few good questions

Luis- Not angry with others... just frustrated. I thouight there was a discussion on some of these in the past. Anyway- will try the dll. I just recentlyi found a google one that works. But I believe I am getting this no matter what server I use. If the dll is for SBX that might help. Will look into...

A few good questions

1. I have Win 7. SBX is install on my main drive.... not progrm files (x86). Lately it has been difficult to get a good map when doing photoreal. Often I get one of two notes- a. cannot access image. b. try closing background in view and reopen and try again. I have to do this many times, switching ...
