Lost Object Placement Tool

Post by Larry » Sun Aug 12, 2007 10:26 pm

Hi All,
I am trying to make the switch from designing for FS9 to FSX. I started with the MS Object Placement tool and had it working OK. Then, I installed SbuilderX and then FSUIPC4 with no problems, but when I started to go back to OPT it was gone. The box that used to say "Tools" had changed to "Add Ons" and only FSUIPC was there.
I don't think SBuilder caused the problem - it works just fine, but I wonder if FSUIPC changed something other than the dll.xml file. FSUIPC added its own lines to launch itself and did not change the lines that launch OPT. Editing the dll.xml file again does nothing to restore the OPT.

Can anyone suggest a reason for the loss of OPT and how to get it back?

Thanks,

Larry

Problem Solved

2 nice guys named Arno and Paul pointed out that some addons (FSUIPC4 being one of them) require that if SP1 is installed then the SDK SP1A must also be installed and vise versa. I had the SDK update but not SP1. After installing SP1 my Tools dropdown with the object placement tool is back.
