Custom Terrain Masks - how do I make 'em

Post by theambler » Thu Oct 11, 2007 8:47 pm

Hi

SbuilderX works great -- but I'm having trouble making water and blend masks. The tutorial is a little vague.
This is what I do so far:
-Get a background
-Use File>Make Map>From Background
-Find the resulting .bmp in the SBuilderX Work folder
-Edit it (in MS Paint) by adding white blocks to stop unwanted sections appearing. Works fine.
-In SBuilderX - Compile and bingo.

I tried adding black in MS Paint where I wanted water, as per the instructions, but I get a wierd effect where it looks as though the land has flooded!

How do I add a black water mask -- at what point do I add this to the original .bmp, what do I do with the file then>

Help please?!

Hi,

The water mask should be another file (TIF - 8 bit) with an identical name terminating as *_W.TIF.

Kind Regards,
