Hello,
For the curved bridge: try it. (It is not a big test)

Sorry for my English: I can not follow exactly “elevated segment”.
You can place an object agl (“mesh clinging”) or with a correct height information.

So therefore to the elevated segment:
Draw a small exclude for the layer (VTP line), you used. And then put in a segment as an object.
(but I never tried, it is only an idea)

Yes, I think the bridges are very limited and more US style. And it seems you are not happy also in florida with them. Maybe you end up doing your own bridge, like Luis.

Horst

So if i understand correctly, if I try to place a gen bridge 02(from Sbuilder) and then resize it with the mouse to several thousand feet, it will not re-size?

If that's the case, then it looks like I have to go back and do the bridges all over again.

When I place the bridge that way it changes the listed dimensions.

If i attempt to place the same bridge somewhere else, will it be placed initialy as a segement with fixed dimensions or like the one described above, 1000's of feet long?

Exactly - sorry to say.

The size of the object is defined by the model, sort of hard-coded. The corners of the object symbol in SBuilder define the footprint of the object - dragging them does not affect the size of the object in the sim. You can drag to corners so they match the footprint of the object, giving you a visual reference of the size of the object in SBuilder, but that must be done manually for almost every object.

You can adjust the scale of the object, but then it scales uniformly in all directions, not just one...

The bridges in the screenshot above don't work - here's my current solution:

See all those little bridge segments?

The alternative is to use autogen (VTP line) bridges.

Maybe we should start a thread with updated objects.txt footprints?

Here's the footprints for the bridge bits I used (notice that I scaled gen_bridge05 to 1.3x):
193a2264464e53ec796b39b1ae929f0d 1 65.22427 14.56005 1.3 gen_bridge05

da002e644742342cdc960db7600b9c56 1 60.11059 28.1636 1 gen_bridge08
c45eea03464ba40ea32647837eb5df82 1 60.3891 28.72092 1 gen_bridge08_2

We are all learning here!

Hi Scott,

Your picture - you have parallel bridges. Is it an old brigde and a more recent bridge?

About VTP brigdes - it is seems that you can not make round parts with VTP, unless there is a VTP "texture" for bridges without ends. See a thread in avsim forum today.

It's the Seven Mile bridge in the florida keys, and yes, the old rail bridge had been converted for automobile traffic, but a new span has been constructed to it's south...
