Help : Panning doesn't seems to work

Post by JAB » Fri May 06, 2005 10:44 pm

Hello,

I am just discovering SBuilder. It looks great ! With just a few mouse clicks, I already have a new road in my FS !

I have a problem to pan the view :
As mentionned in the help, I hold down my mouse wheel and drag.
Instead of panning the view, this zooms the view in and out !!!

Is there another way to pan easily ?
Turnaround : I right click on the background and choos "center" ...

Thanks in advance !

Jacky

Hello Jacky,

I do not know if I am using the right words in the help file to explain the 2 functions that you can get with the mouse wheel.

Rolling (no pressing) > zooms in or out
Pressing down the wheel (and moving the mouse with the wheel down) > pans the display.

Therefore I suggest that you review the way you are working. Or is the mouse wheel completely functional in your mouse?

Your turnaround is OK. There is also an undocumented way to pan which I use when I work with a digitizing pen and tablet. Press and hold P (P for Pan). Then (keeping P down) drag with either the left or right mouse.

Kind Regards and thank you for using SBuilder,

Luis

Hi Luis,

Thanks for your rapid answer !

My mouse wheel works well as I am able to zoom in and out with it.
But it doesn't seem too happy when somebody press on it ! [B)][xx(]
I tried your solution ("P" key) : it works well, [:D]

Thanks a lot !

Hallo Jacky,Luis

Thanks for the hold P !!

I always used the wireless IntelliMouse explorer – mouse.

Some weeks ago, I bought the new explorer 2.0.

And yes: “But it doesn't seem too happy when somebody press on it!”
Yes this wheel, does not work in any program.
I could not find out yet: why?
I am using only the standard settings.

I connected the old explorer mouse also, and when I use Sbuilder, I used the old explorer-mouse (works with the same driver).

“Holding P” works fine here, for my “new” mouse.

Regards
Horst

I hold the mouse wheel button down and move the view around. Works great.
