Hi all,
This is my first attempt at making a mesh. I get this error whenever I try compiling "Run time error '53': - File not found"
I have installed VB6 runtimes dated 11/2003
Here's what I did -
I got two HGT DEM's (adjacent tiles) from here -
ftp://e0mss21u.ecs.nasa.gov/srtm/
Converted to BSQ.
Ran through BSQ processor twice to remove -ve values and voids.
Joined them to form 1 BSQ.
Converted to bitmap.
Inserted using map option.
Entered the right (corrected) border values in mesh map.
"Remember: go to the View menu and under Maps select the last entry - Mesh (Bsq2Bmp)!" -
did this too.
Used the mesh button to select LOD8.
Clicked on the tile I require (green cross hatched after selection)
Selected Pointer mode.
Selected the tile so the cross hatching changed to blue.
Clicked on BGL button, selected available option "Meshes" under "Other"
Hit compile.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Is there any other way to make meshes using these sources??
Thanks,
Keith

Matthew Styles - I could kiss the ground you walk on.
Problem solved, just discovered SRTM TO BGL by Matthew Styles. A great 2 click solution to convert .HGT's to mesh. A sweet end to 2 days of frustration. [:D]
One more little query. Is it better performance wise to have many small mesh bgl's as compared to one big one. Then one I made came to about 8 megs.

<br />Hi,
Your description seems OK! I can not see what could be wrong. You can make mesh with other tools or even with MS resampler (in fact SB does that!).
Please keep me informed about what could be happening. I will try to help.
