GoogleEarth tiles

Post by jacobsnykers » Tue Sep 29, 2009 4:21 pm

Recently Google Earth has been updated with higher resolution tiles, this way i was able to use a zoomfactor of 15 and 16 with very nice scenery.
Without any reason this latter did not work anymore, even worse the Googleserver seems to have stopped working.
Has anyone incountered this same problem?

GE seems to always be switching their access parameters. You can try to obtain the area manually using this site setup by Luis; http://www.ptsim.com/sbuilder/gmaps.asp ... n=-120.147 Once the data is captured you would insert into SBX by using the File | Add Map | From Disk process.

Hello,

I would follow Lance advice. The DLLs keep changing and what works today can not work tomorrow.

See if this works:

Best Regards, Luis

Hello Scott,

I have Firefox and in Tools > Page Information > Media I can see the urls used to get tiles. Going to http://maps.google.com I get urls like these:

http://mt3.google.com/vt/lyrs=m@107&hl= ... 3&z=6&s=Ga
http://mt1.google.com/vt/lyrs=m@107&hl= ... &z=6&s=Gal
http://mt0.google.com/vt/lyrs=m@107&hl= ... &s=Galileo

I do not know what means the Galileo and the lyrs. I try to get the simpler usage:

http://mt3.google.com/vt/x=17&y=23&z=6
http://mt1.google.com/vt/x=17&y=24&z=6
http://mt0.google.com/vt/x=18&y=25&z=6

You can compare these urls with those on the DLL source. Google keeps changing these urls.

Regards, Luis

Thanks. I will take a look at this (not that I can do anything constructive, but I'm curious about why Google keeps changing stuff.). I guess people who use the tile proxy app also are affected.

Although I got version5 when ever I select Google as the Server the background is blank most of the time. It sometimes shows the tiles and mostly dont. I am not able to figure out what is wrong with it. Any ideas?
