Photoscenery

Post by luisr » Wed Aug 25, 2010 9:27 am

Hello everybody,
first Thanks to Luis. SBuilderX is a great idea and a very useful tool for every scenery developer :)
I'm now at beginning of working with it and got two little problems.
First, when I import a bitmap to SBuilderX, it's mirror-inverted. See below
SBuilderX:
mirrorinverted.JPG
And in Google Earth:
mirrorinverted2.JPG
And when I select it and want to compile, it says I haven't selected anything.
Thanks for any help!
Luis

Hola Luis,

Welcome to the forum. I don't know why your Map is inverted, you will have to provide more information as to the source and how you add it to SBuilderX and how you calibrate it.

As for selecting the Map, please remember that the Map must be named "Photo_something" (where "something" is whatever name you wish to give it) so that SbuilderX can recognize it as photo-scenery.

Please take the time to read Make photo-real ground textures in Flight Simulator X
available in the Avsim library at:
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... LID=140539

Best regards.

Hola Luis,
Thanks for your quick help. I cut out a part of the map in Google Earth, load it with Add Map -> From disk and I take out the coordinates from Google Earth to calibrate it. However, the inverted map problem is solved. Probably did something wrong with the pixels/coords.
I called my map Photo_...
Now it works! Thx :)

I would not use Google Earth images, as they are warped to a round-earth model.

Doesn't the Google Maps background work in your SBuilderX? The latest DLL uses version 67 which is current, and solves some of the tile access "lockouts" we had in the past.

Hi Dick,
I already tried to do it with background, but if i zoom in a bit, everything gets white and it doesn't download tiles anymore :|
How can I get this DLL?

Hi Luis.

Here is the latest DLL for Google satellite images:

http://www.timacheson.com/SkyDrive/Dire ... 5E_v67.zip

There is a sticky thread at the top of the SbuilderX forum that list the current DLLs ( Tile Server Plug-ins ). Google changes it's satellite datasets quite often, so it's a good idea to check the thread for updates.

Extract the GoogleServer.dll and copy it to the SBuilder\Tiles folder.
